About Donna Martin: Donna Martin is an international Hakomi trainer who has been co-leading workshops with Ron Kurtz since 1991.   She currently leads Hakomi trainings in Canada, Japan, Mexico, and England and presents the workshops in the Practice of Loving Presence series in Hawaii, Japan, England, Canada, and South America. Donna has more than thirty-five years' experience as a teacher of yoga, mindful movement, and meditation, and many years as a stress management specialist and addictions counselor.

Donna has been working with Ron in the development of the Personhood Series, now used as the basis of the training, and is currently writing a book with him on the Practice of Loving Presence. She has created a series of "body/mind practices" to use in Hakomi workshops and trainings which are designed to teach key elements of the method and cultivate self and other awareness through simple exercises involving touch and/or movement.

Workshop Style:  Hakomi Alberta workshops use a multi-level learning experience which includes new, continuing and advanced students. These workshops will present a holistic view of the Hakomi Experiential Method and may include an exploration of the body with gentle yoga. There will be short lectures, discussions, and demonstrations, but mostly, the group will learn experientially by doing exercises designed to convey the foundational principles of Hakomi: loving-presence, mindfulness, an experimental attitude, and moving toward nourishment.
